ARTitude Zine back issue “value packs” to debut at Etsy

Monday, March 1st, 2010

If you are just discovering ARTitude Zine back issues, you may be interested to know that I’ve prepared some special topic sets I can offer at a great price. Six zines will fit into a Priority Mail envelope, so this is an economical way to build your ARTitude library.

The special topic sets include:

A six-pack featuring Helga’s best Altered Book Workshop columns

A six-pack featuring “Metalchick” Christine Cox’s greatest hits

A five-pack featuring all of the ARTsparks columns contributed by creativity coach Jill Jones

A five-pack featuring five different soldering projects (charms, book covers, rings, reliquary and ornament)

A six-pack featuring fun, easy projects that use stuff you already have in your kitchen or craft desk (probably)

More special sets will be added as I dream them up! And every set comes with a small gift from me to you: a collage pack full of bits and bobs I’ve collected over the years, sure to prime your creative pump.

Individual back issues are also listed at Etsy, of course. And don’t forget about the complete set of available back issues, if you can’t decide, need instant gratification, or seek a wonderful gift for a creative friend.

Now, that's a lotta ziney goodness!

ARTitude Zine back issues now at Etsy

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Those of you playing along at home may have noticed that the ARTitude Zine website recently went bye-bye. It was woefully out of date and too expensive to maintain, especially since there are no new issues being published.

You can now find all available ARTitude Zine back issues at my Etsy store. Um, er… actually I’m still in the process of listing them all but they will all be there eventually. If you need one you don’t see listed, leave a comment below and I’ll see if I still have that issue. (PS, I’m sorry to report that Issue #27 never saw the light of day.)

If you have never experienced ARTitude Zine, I hope you’ll click on the tab above and give it a try! A band of dedicated and talented people shared so much creativity in its pages for over seven years, it’s really been quite a thrill for me to look through every issue as I’ve been writing up the extensive Etsy descriptions. I’d forgotten so many great projects I wanted to try — you can bet I’m rounding up the supplies for making Deborah Boschert’s positive/negative fabric postcards, Christine Cox’s riveted charms and (more…)

A new day, a new blog

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Yup, Suz needs a haircut. That's how you know it's really her.

Okay, so, this is my new blog! Welcome.

I couldn’t believe it when I discovered that suzapalooza.com was still available. A real stroke of luck! As the made-up word implies, this blog will be a mishmash of stuff that I find interesting including what I’ve been doing, where I’ve been going and how I’ve been thinking lately. I struggle with depression and interpersonal dramas, but to keep my head above water I celebrate life’s absurdities and try to balance the obligations with a healthy dose of adventure and creative play. I will keep things on the lighter side in these pages.

First things first: I’d like to give a shout-out to my lovely and talented web designer, Tracey Kazimir-Cree at eeep! productions, who patiently and expertly worked with me in spurts for lo, these many months to put this thing together in a classy way. We started with a groovy WordPress template and Tracey really leveraged it into exactly what I was hoping for. Consider this the highest, most enthusiastic recommendation for her work! (Thanks, chica. Looking forward to the day we can celebrate in person with laughs and cocktails.)

Consider bookmarking this site because there’s a lot more coming, including LOTS of art bits I’ve excavated from my studio and wish to pass along to good folks who will actually USE them. Watch for the Flea Market page to offer vintage millinery flowers, kimono scraps, gently used rubber stamps and a ton of other great stuff, just as soon as I have a chance to list them. And the Freebies page will offer some downloadable images, templates, patterns and other useful stuff you may use as you please. I’ll beef up that page quite a bit in the next couple weeks.

And of course, if you came here via artitudezine.com, please click on the tab above to learn the latest news and visit my etsy store to purchase any back issues you’re missing.

Okay, my blogging muscles have been properly stretched. Here we go! :)
